The COBI system gives you full system visibility while adding on the luxuries such as control of the phone, music and navigation all without removing your hands from the grips for added safety and performance. It's been disappointing to buy an expensive bike and not have it work the way it's supposed to.You've found the Currie Parts section of the Marketplace, our comparison shopping engine. The IZIP E3 Protour has best in class integration between motor and user with the COBI system. Unfortunately, the light broke off at the fender while riding home last week. It has worked out well for my 26 mile round trip commute to work. I've hear other owners have the same issues and Haibike is working to resolve the issues with no time table on when this will actually occur. Sporty super-commuter bikes like the Stromer and Kalkhoff have a new competitor from Izip in the new-for-2016 E3 Protour. Hi, I bought my 2016 Izip protour last fall ( used from original owner who put less than 50 miles on it). It offers high-speed 28 mph pedal assisted rides, feature-complete accessories like fenders, a rear rack, and integrated lights, and now it runs off of your Android or iOS smartphone device because it comes stock with the Cobi system. I'm not sure how long I want to wait to get these issues resolved and feel like the integration is not quite "ready for prime time". The ProTour is one of IZIP’s most exciting electric bikes, at least to me. I've documented and communicated all issues to the dealer and they say Haibike is working on it. I've had the bike for almost two months with no resolution from Haibike. I cancelled my Juiced Bike order (1699 - 6-8 week wait) and picked one up today at my LBS for 1543 with a lifetime transferable warranty and lifetime free adjustments. A hard wired connection to a device in my opinion and experience is always more stable. In case you may have missed it, iZip is closing out their E3 Protour. ![]() One thing I think is really odd is how there is a charging cable for the phone but the cable is not used for the connection to the COBI head unit, that's left to Bluetooth and I think that is a mistake. There seems to be a communication issue with the COBI and TranzX motor as the motor registers an error. The bike can also completely shut down in the middle of the ride, losing the connection with the COBI. There are definitely glitches with the COBI integration where the motor intermittently turns off and then turns back on going up hills. The bike is surely heavy too, just getting it in and out of the house to ride it takes work. I do enjoy the design and the bike is fun to ride. I did a lot of research and bought the Urban Plus and have been riding it for the last two months. ![]()
